Souham 3, Lille
The terracotta walls and double pitched roof integrate the Souham 3 building into the existing barracks. The monolithic structure opens onto two opposite facades. On Place St Hubert, the building is divided into two bodies to form a parvis. A randomly arranged pattern openings cut into the terracotta provide each office with a source of natural lighting while echoing the glass walls on the ground floor. The changing silhouette of the Souham 3 building imparts a contemporary reading to its archetypal character.
