Coface Headquarters, Bois-Colombes
The 40,000 sq m of offices is located on the site of the former Hispano-Suiza factories, the last of the industrial wastelands in a district that is undergoing radical transformation. Set on a triangular plot, the building features a sculpted facade of white and grey facets, enlivened by a pattern of windows modules of different sizes that endows the complex with an apparently random rhythmic appearance. The double height of the openings breaks up the effect that an accumulation of stories could produce. In contrast to this mineral facing, the base and the crown are partially marked by setbacks clad in an irregular pattern of metallic spines. The main lobby, three stories high, creates a space of urban transparency between the open entrance area outside and the interior garden.
