Synchrotron, Saclay
The buildings, car parks and landscaped areas of Projet Soleil are arranged to form a system of parallel vegetable and mineral lines. The ring of the particle accelerator is set into a broad perpendicular cut in this system. The low buildings display a similar design. The simple, bare homogenous massing reinforces the coherence of the complex.
