Sénart Theatre
The Sénart Theatre, one of the approximately 70 accredited national public theatres for the performing arts, stands as a new landmark in the Carré Sénart. It achieves balance by its play on oblique lines and its hierarchy of reliefs. The metal covering is set like a veil over the fragmented structure that houses a frontal large theatre space, another multi-purpose performance space and a restaurant. Squares of different sizes of stamped or perforated sheet metal impart a dynamic rhythmic pattern to this unifying skin. In the center of the building is an open-air patio that brings in sunlight and ventilation. This user-friendly space for artists and the general public can be used for outdoor performances.
