Furniture for the French Ministry of Culture
This furniture was commissioned and manufactured by the Mobilier National studio in 1998. It comprises a desk, a sideboard, consoles, benches and chairs. The desk was based on a prototype made in 1992 by the studio and purchased by the Fonds National d’Art Contemporain. All of the furniture is made from sycamore maple. Another copy of the desk, also manufactured by the Mobilier National studio, is used every year by the President of the Republic for his Bastille Day televised address.
