Sports hall, Rezé
The design for Rezé’s metropolitan sports centre is informed by the search for a simple, optimal and refined form. The arena and the public entrance areas occupy a simple parallelepipedal space; box-like shapes are added on the four sides to house annex units. The whole is broken up and lightened by the transparent treatment of the ground floor and the intermediary floor. The horizontality and fragmentation that dominate the architecture provide the arena with a strongly identifiable character. The metal latticework sculpts the building, enhancing its geometry and creating shimmering effects on the façades.
