La Licorne stadium, Amiens
From a distance, the stadium seems to be a lightweight structure floating above the surface like an airship tied to the ground. Nearby, the movement of the ground creates the transition with the base of the building and makes for easy access to the seating. The project was designed from the start to be a closed stadium on all four sides. Its geometry sticks very close to the playing field. The concave coverings are oriented toward the centre of the stadium so as to focus attention on the playing field and the match. Transparent, they allow sunlight in and provide views of the sky.
