"Luxembourg station” urbanisation, Luxembourg

The “Luxembourg station” urbanisation project undertaken on the occasion of the creation of the TGV railway station involves connecting two sections of the city that formerly turned their backs on each other and generating areas for service sector activities and businesses. In the centre of the 57-hectare site is a park, with public facilities placed here and there. The green walkway running north to south takes the form of a landscaped hill over the railway lines which slopes down to meet the roads on either side. This reknitting stitch by stitch of the urban fabric yields a contrasted plot pattern occupied by buildings or landscaped areas.
