Université des Quais, Lyon 7e
Located in the city center, the university integrates the different areas in a simple massing developed on the block scale and entirely open on its two lower levels. The entry halls are marked by different colors and graphics. The reception areas and the colorful amphitheaters can be seen through the transparent glass covered gallery as can the garden planted at the center of the block – a genuine micro-ecosystem open to the general public. The lower part of the facade contrasts with the sobriety of the two bands with its slightly offset folds that give rhythm to the upper part and fragment the building into nested volumes.
