Hotel and Youth Hostel, Paris
This new building, which houses a hotel, a restaurant and a youth hostel, is welcoming and open onto the city. An obvious relationship of kinship is established with the existing warehouse of the Magasins Généraux (“general stores”). The airy cut-out evocation of the old massing forms a light silhouette that stands in contrast to the 1850 building. The interior courtyard lets sunlight into the heart of the block while creating areas of user-friendly circulation that benefit from exceptional views of La Villette Basin.

Reconstruction of the Magasins Généraux building for a triple program.
Holiday Inn Express Hotel : 144 rooms, meeting rooms and board.
St. Christopher's Inns Youth Hostel : 340 beds, Internet café, bar restaurant, night space music / rehearsal during the day.
La Criée Restaurant: 144 seats inside and 60 possible seats on the terrace .
